Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, explains why President Buhari doesn't wear face mask

The Personal Assistant to President Buhari Lauretta Onochie revealed reasons why the President have not been wearing face mask.

 

In Nigeria, wearing a face mask to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) has been a law, especially in Lagos state, where people are even arrested for not putting the face mask on while walking in streets.

 

Why hasn't the president been putting on mask? Since he has been seen on several occasions in several meetings where everyone are putting on mask, but only the President isn't. Is he above the law?

 

Onochie Lauretta the President assistant, came out to back the president up by saying expert in medical protocol states that there is no need for the face mask when in a safe environment, and that has been the President's reason for not wearing the mask.

 

She shared a post on her Twitter handle, she insisted that President Buhari was not breaking any rules by the government by not wearing face mask. 

She explained futher that the rule stressed that only those who are visiting the Presidental residence must wear face mask to ensure they don’t leave behind droplets in a safe environment.


She tweeted:

''PRES @MBuhari  IS NOT BREAKING RULES! Expert Medical Protocol is that if you are in your safe environment, you dont need to wear a mask 

Those visiting you MUST wear masks to ensure they leave no droplets in your environment 

Wearing of masks is mostly to protect people around us''
