The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is Nigeria's leading national public health institute.
The NCDC is a Nigerian federal government agency under the Federal Ministry of Health (Nigeria) and is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria.
The agency is currently headed by Chikwe Ihekweazu.
The main goal of the agency is to protect public health and safety through the control and prevention of communicable diseases in Nigeria.
The agency is also responsible for coordinating surveillance systems to collect, analyze and elucidate data gathered on diseases of importance to the Nigerian community.
According to the NCDC on their twitter handle, today 12th of April 2020, they pasted that "there is now Five new cases of #COVID19 which have been reported as follows:
2 cases in Lagos
2 cases in Kwara
1 case in Katsina
As at 09:10 pm 12th April there are 323 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged with 10 deaths
There are 19 states with confirmed cases in Nigeria."
The cases of the virus continue to increase, we hope it ends soon.
